May 12 (Monday EST): Earth sunk!
Monday EST.
7:00am EST: After I sent the kids to school, I happened to check news on cnn.com, there was a report of a devasdating earthquake happending around 2:30am EST Monday morning in Sichuan, I can’t believe it! What’s going on? The earth just sunk and sky just felt!!!
I started to grab the phone trying to reach my family and friends in Chengdu, no phone went through: i tried their landline, their cell phones; I used my landline and cell phone to call, no luck. Apparently, the communication was either interrupted or too busy…
I started to send emails, hoping someone would have luck to reach Internet and send something out. I digged out all those possible email addresses my family and friends use, and requested “Are you surviving earthquake???”
10:30am EST: I finally got a quick email from my nephew in Chengdu, stating “CHINA MOBILE IS BORKEN ,SO WE CAN NOT MAKE A CALL. CHENGDU IS SAFETY. BUT WENCHUAN MUST BE DESTORYED.”, what a shame that Wenchuan is destoryed; luckily, Chengdu is still ok,that’s a relief. While trying to get more details, no luck.
Through out the day:
Got lots of calls and emails from caring friends and family in town, asking my parents’ safety. Thanks folks! (hey, I never knew how popular my parents are till now ;-) )…

…busy reading news and watching update on TV
End of day: I think my family were OK… but the death toll for other folks were 8000, how terrible! I’m exhaused…
